Fred and Shireen
Pastor Fred and Shireen Sirett Fred and Shireen became Christians thirty years ago through a mainline denomination renewal movement. Several others did as well about the same time. Chauvin Gospel Centre began when people from renewal movements formed a body and embraced the mission of Jesus Christ. Fred and Shireen ministered for 25 years in other regions, but have always had a connection with CGC. Similar backgrounds and interests have made for an easy settling to leadership. They embrace the mission and vision of the church wholeheartedly- a Christian life is radical and requires us to be all in. The goal is to make fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ, and the ministry of the church is to impact whole families to grow to know Him and serve Him. While Fred is intensively passionate about the difference Jesus makes in one’s life, he speaks from the flavor of being a farmer, a dad, and one who found the goodness in God late in life. Jesus has come to give life and life more abundant to all those who receive Him. God’s invitation is for all to come to Him- you will always be welcome at Chauvin Gospel Centre.
Cheryl began serving at CGC as the Associate Pastor in September 2015, moving to Chauvin from Hamilton, Ontario. She graduated from Redeemer University College with a B.A. in Religion & Theology and French and with a B.Ed. to be a certified teacher, all with the aspiration of going into ministry full-time. She as been an active member in her church since the age of 13, participating in various ministries both on stage and behind the scenes. Cheryl served as an intern at Family Worship Centre (PAOC) and at Church on the Rock (CBOQ), planning and directing the Jr. High and Children’s summer camps. She has written a handful of spiritual formation booklets and preached as puplit supply for two years. She wants to see kids, youth and families empowered to be the Kingdom of God in their own settings and to have a real, personal relationship and transformative encounters with Jesus. She has a heart to see people honour God in all things, centering their lives around worship and prayer. Cheryl has travelled extensively, living for a time in France, Ghana, Honduras and Spain for both study and ministry.
